S&ME acquires QORE through asset purchase

Two Southeast U.S. engineering/environmental firms have joined forces through the acquisition of the assets of Atlanta-based QORE Inc. by S&ME Inc., headquartered in Raleigh, NC.

Over 250 former QORE employees joined S&ME, increasing the company’s employment to about 1,000. This staff will work from 28 offices in North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

Though concentrating heavily in the Southeast U.S., S&ME has completed projects throughout much of the U.S. and in the Caribbean.

QORE began in 1969 as Atlanta Testing and Engineering. The name QORE was adopted in 1998.

S&ME was founded in Raleigh in 1973. Its major service lines include geotechnical engineering; construction materials engineering and testing; environmental services, occupational health and safety; water resources and solid waste engineering; and natural and cultural resources.
