The South Florida Water Management District is now accepting applications for cost-share projects to develop alternative water supply projects and water conservation projects as part of the state of Florida’s efforts to implement cost-effective strategies to protect the state's water resources while meeting Florida’s water needs.

The Florida Legislature approved $40 million in funding for developing water supply and water resource development projects. SFWMD is requesting applications for funding consideration for alternative water supply and water conservation projects within the district’s 16-county service area.

Eligible projects for consideration should be construction-ready AWS projects or ready-to-implement water conservation technology programs that provide the most immediate benefits. The application process opened July 6, 2020, and closes July 31, 2020, at 4 p.m.

Projects may be eligible for up to 50 percent cost-share by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
