Meeker calls it quits

Melissa Meeker, the executive director of the South Florida Water Management District, resigned yesterday without explanation or mention of her departure date.

In a brief e-mail sent Tuesday, she that she had given her notice of resignation to Daniel O'Keefe, the new chairman of the district's governing board.
